Orillia wedding photographer

Your people. Your plans.
Your day, photographed naturally.

Natural, candid wedding photography in Orillia, Severn and Oro-Medonte. A little guidance when you need it, and room to be yourselves.

Photographs with room to be yourselves

You don’t need to know
what to do with your hands.

That’s my job. I’ll help you settle in, keep family photos organised and watch for the moments you didn’t know were happening. Natural colour, classic black and white, and photographs that bring you back to how it felt.

Weddings close to home

Three wedding settings
around Orillia.

Northbrook Farm in Severn, The Heights in Horseshoe Valley and Glen Oro Farm in Oro-Medonte offer very different settings close to Orillia. Here’s what to consider as you picture your own day.

Northbrook Farm

I live just minutes from Northbrook and have photographed weddings here for over a decade. The gardens, woods and open fields give us plenty of variety without leaving the property.

We can plan family photographs close to the ceremony, then choose a little time for portraits around the light and the rest of your day.

The Heights

The Heights in Horseshoe Valley brings open hillsides and a country-club setting to your wedding plans. Its event team builds customised packages, so you can start with the kind of day you want rather than trying to fit a fixed format.

For photographs, I’d plan around your ceremony location first, then leave room for a few portraits with the hills behind you. We’ll coordinate any time away from your guests with the venue team.

Glen Oro Farm

Glen Oro Farm in Oro-Medonte offers a countryside setting with woodland, open space and on-site glamping. It has options for elopements, micro-weddings and larger weddings, making it worth exploring whether your guest list is short or still growing.

Some smaller packages include photography. Check what your chosen package covers and whether you can select your photographer before booking separate coverage. Then we can talk through the parts of your day you’d like me to photograph.

Abuot Me

A local photographer.
A familiar face on your day.

I’m Vaughn, based in the Orillia area. After more than 15 years and hundreds of weddings, I know how much it helps to have someone calm in your corner.

I’ll speak up when a little direction helps and step back when you’re in the middle of something worth remembering.

Outside of weddings, I’m a husband, dad to two girls and a Maple Leafs fan. The last one requires patience.

Before we get started

Planning your wedding
photographs.

We’re awkward in photos. Will you help us?

Absolutely. You don’t need to practise posing. I’ll give you simple direction, find good light and keep things moving so you can relax into it. There’s time for portraits without making your whole wedding feel like a photo shoot.

How many hours of photography do we need?

Four or five hours can work for a smaller wedding with the ceremony, family photos, portraits and time with guests. Getting ready, travel between locations and later events need more room. Send me your rough plans and I’ll help you choose coverage around what you want photographed.

Can you help with photo locations and timing?

Yes. Whether everything is happening at one venue or you’re moving between locations around Orillia, we’ll think through the light, travel time, family photographs and a weather backup. Keeping portraits close to your venue can leave more time with your guests.

When will we receive our photographs?

My usual turnaround is one to two weeks, depending on my schedule. I’ll confirm the expected delivery time for your booking so you know what to expect.

How do we find out if you’re available?

Send me your date and plans below. I’ll confirm availability and share the coverage details. We can arrange a video call to get to know each other and talk through your day. A signed contract and retainer secure your booking.

Do you photograph weddings outside Orillia?

Yes. I photograph weddings in Severn and Oro-Medonte, throughout Muskoka, and in Parry Sound and the surrounding area. Let me know your location when you enquire.
