Parry Sound Wedding Photographer
NATURAL, TIMELESS IMAGES
EVEN IF YOU DON’T LOVE BEING PHOTOGRAPHED.
Parry Sound weddings don’t need to be overproduced to be unforgettable. From waterfront celebrations along Georgian Bay to cottage weddings and intimate gatherings nearby, the setting already does a lot of the work.
The memorable moments usually happen between the formalities: a glance across the room, a quiet breath before the aisle, or unplanned laughter during cocktail hour. You need a photographer who understands the pace of the day and knows when to step in - and when to disappear.
A little about Me
I’m a wedding photographer working with couples across Parry Sound and Muskoka who want their day to feel natural and unforced.
My approach is straightforward. I stay steady and organized behind the scenes so you can focus on the people and moments that matter. The result is coverage that feels relaxed, not staged - images that reflect how the day felt.
When I’m not photographing weddings, you’ll find me at travelling with my family, cheering on my Maple Leafs, or diving into a good documentary over morning coffee.
After more than 15 years and hundreds of weddings, I’ve learned that the best images don’t come from controlling the day - they come from understanding and moving with it.
My Style
CLEAN. CANDID. TIMELESS.
My style is about simplicity. I focus on candid moments and clean compositions without turning the day into a photoshoot. You won’t spend hours posing or performing for the camera. Instead, the images reflect how your wedding actually unfolded.
What People Are Saying“I’ve now had three experiences with Vaughn - our engagement session, my bachelorette, and our wedding. All three times he made everyone involved feel comfortable and at ease, he had great ideas and accepted ours as well, and all three times we had beautiful photos delivered to us in a very short amount of time. We’ve received numerous compliments about all of his photos we’ve shared, and I can’t stop looking at them myself.”

Parry Sound Wedding Venues
Parry Sound offers a beautiful mix of waterfront resorts, golf courses, private cottages, and outdoor spaces for a relaxed wedding day. From ceremonies near Georgian Bay to celebrations surrounded by the Canadian Shield, every location has its own light, layout, and pace.
I’ve photographed weddings and other sessions at Rocky Crest Resort, Grand Tappattoo Resort, Seguin Valley Golf Club, and Manitou Ridge Golf Club. Familiarity with these types of settings helps me work efficiently, find the strongest locations for photos, and keep your wedding day feeling natural instead of overly directed.
Whether you’re planning a larger resort wedding, a golf-club celebration, or something small and personal near Parry Sound, my approach stays focused on the real moments and the people you’ve brought together.
Parry Sound Wedding Reviews & Guides
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How far in advance should we book our wedding photographer?
For a summer or fall wedding in Parry Sound, it’s best to book 12 to 18 months ahead. Resort and popular dates tend to fill up fast. Off-peak and weekday weddings usually offer more flexibility and you can often book within 6 to 12 months.
We’re awkward in front of the camera - can you help?
I hear this from most couples, you’re not alone! My approach is relaxed and guided, so you’re never left wondering what to do - but never overly posed either. The goal is to help you feel comfortable and in-the-moment, so your photos look natural and genuinely like you. Learn more →
Where are you located?
I’m based in Orillia and photograph weddings throughout Muskoka, Parry Sound and Central Ontario. Destination weddings have also played a big role in my career - so if there’s a place close to your heart but not so close to Muskoka, I’ll fly just about anywhere for an 'I do.'
How many hours of wedding photography do we need?
It depends on what you’d like photographed. Two hours for an elopement and four to five hours can work well for a smaller wedding, covering the ceremony, family photos, couples portraits and cocktails with guests. If you’d like getting ready through to dancing covered, you’ll usually need longer. I’ll help you work out what fits best for your plans. Learn more →
How long until we receive our photos?
Typically, you’ll receive your images within one to two weeks, depending on my schedule at that time.
How do we book you for our wedding?
I like to keep things straightforward - just a 35% retainer and a signed contract, and you’re all set. After that, we dive into the fun part. Check My Availability →
Do you need a shot list?
No. I focus on capturing your day as it naturally unfolds. Sticking to a shot list can take away from the authenticity of your photos. That said, if there’s a specific shot that’s important to you, let me know and we’ll be sure to get it.
