This photo was taken early in the morning as the sun began to slowly rise and illuminate the peeks along the Ice Fields Parkway. I was watching as we drove in near darkness that morning and when we found this stretch of highway I quickly pulled over and waited for the sun to cast that direct shadow on these magnificent peeks in the Rocky Mountains of Canda.
The Ice Fields Parkway is rated as one of the top drives in the world by Condé Nast Traveller. It’s a 232 km stretch of highway winding along the Continental Divide through incredible mountain peaks, icefields and sweeping valleys connecting Jasper National Park to Banff National Park.
