I took this photo on our trip through the Rockies in August of 2023. Peyto Lake is a glacier-fed lake, located about 40 kms north of Lake Louise in Banff National Park. It was a breathtaking stop along our trip down the Ice Fields Parkway.
Taking the image came with a significant investment of patience and cunning. There was a large amount of tourists on site and coming up with a strategy to get myself into the optimal position with sufficient time to create this image was challenging.
Thankfully I did my homework prior to our visit and had a semi-flushed out strategy ahead of time. Tourists and Mother Nature are wildcards so preparation was key.
