Your favourite people. A place you love. Room to enjoy it all.

I’m Vaughn, a photographer based in Orillia. I photograph elopements, small weddings and surprise proposals throughout Muskoka, Parry Sound and Central Ontario. Natural photos, a little guidance, and plenty of time to be yourselves.

Surprise proposals

You bring the ring. We’ll work out the location, timing and where I’ll be, so you can focus on the question and I can capture the reaction.

Clean. Candid. Timeless.

You don’t need to know what to do with your hands.

Most couples tell me they’re awkward in front of a camera. You’re in good company.

I’ll guide you when you need it, then give you room to enjoy each other. We’ll make time for portraits and family photos, with plenty of attention to the moments happening in between.

Natural colour, classic black and white, and photos that bring you back to how it felt.

The person behind the camera

I’m Vaughn.

I’ve spent more than 15 years photographing hundreds of weddings. The part I still love most? Getting to know people, helping them feel comfortable, and catching the moments they didn’t realise I saw.

I’m married with two incredible girls. Outside of weddings, you’ll find me cheering on my Maple Leafs (condolences appreciated), enjoying hard-shell tacos, or planning our next family trip.

If you enjoy a good laugh and would rather spend your day making memories than holding poses, we’ll probably get along.

A little more about me

A little local knowledge

Find a place that feels like you.

Based in Orillia, I photograph across Muskoka, including Gravenhurst, Bracebridge and Huntsville, and north into Parry Sound. Private cottages, waterfront resorts and forest settings all offer something different.

I’ve photographed celebrations at places including Northbrook Farm, Sherwood Inn, Severn Lodge and Muskoka Bay Resort. My guides are a starting point for finding your own spot.

A few things you might be wondering

Before we get started.

Do you photograph larger weddings too?

Yes. Elopements and small weddings are my main focus, but I also photograph a select number of larger weddings. The approach is the same: a relaxed experience, guidance when you need it, and attention to the people and moments that matter to you.

What’s the difference between an elopement and a micro-wedding?

There isn’t a universal guest-count rule. I think of an elopement as a celebration centred on the couple, with few or no guests. A micro-wedding includes a small group of close family and friends. Tell me what you’re planning and we’ll work out the coverage that fits.

How many hours of photography do we need?

Two hours can work for a simple elopement with a ceremony and portraits. Four or five hours can allow for a ceremony, family photos, couple portraits and time with guests. Getting ready, travel between locations or dancing may call for more. Here’s my guide to what five hours of wedding photography can cover .

Can you help us choose a location and plan the timing?

Absolutely. I can suggest locations and help you think through lighting, portrait time and how photography fits into your day. I’m not a wedding planner, but I’m happy to share what I’ve learned from photographing weddings throughout this region.

How do we find out about pricing and book?

Send me your date, location and a little about your plans . I’ll confirm availability and help you choose suitable coverage. Once you’re ready, a signed contract and 35% retainer secure your booking.

When will we receive our photos?

My usual delivery time is one to two weeks, depending on my schedule. I’ll confirm the expected turnaround for your booking so you know what to expect.

Muskoka · Orillia · Parry Sound

Tell me what you’re planning.

A date, a location if you have one, and a little about the two of you. We’ll take it from there.
